Writing books isn’t all that glamorous or profitable. Most authors can’t live off their writings and most books sell less then 5000 copies. It’s almost impossible to get published by a well known book publisher. We all know of bestsellers that nobody wanted that had to be self-published first.

I don’t know why, but self-publishing and print on demand are two very profitable publishing niches. Not literary agents, not screenplays, not “become a writer”. I guess it’s because the money isn’t really in writing. It’s in publishing, printing and selling.

So, if you have relevant information about self-publishing books or print on demand, you are pretty much guaranteed very generous payouts, as long as you can get decent traffic.

In order not to violate Google TOS, I rate niches with my own star system. ** - $0.20-$0.30 per click average, *** - $0.30-$0.50 per click average, **** - $0.50-$0.70 per click average, ***** - $0.70-$1.20 per click average. While I don’t mind sharing information on ***** niches, I don’t make this information publicly available because it would quickly kill these niches or get Google pissed off at me.

All AdSense niches were tested by me personally and your results shouldn’t be very different, unless your account was smart-priced, too much time passed since my testing, MFA got a hold of the niche or your site or traffic source sucks big time.
